Wonder what the name of the person who fired the missile in A House of Dynamite is? This is an apocalyptic thriller directed by Kathryn Bigelow and is based on the Fort Greely radars that have been tracking an oncoming missile that is heading to the U.S. The President and his team have limited time to evade the fatal attack.
Who fired the missile on Chicago In A House of Dynamite?
In the movie, there is no mention of the name of the individual, group or nation that fired a missile towards Chicago in A House of Dynamite. Director Kathryn Bigelow and writer Noah Oppenheim had a vision that nuclear proliferation be the evil.
At the beginning, the viewer sees Captain Olivia Walker on her way to work in the White House Situation Room. Major Daniel Gonzalez on the other hand takes his wife to the 59yh missile defense battalion after quarrelling with his wife.
The characters are soon brought to their senses by an unidentified ICBM being fired. It appeared initially as a test missile. They later on discover that it is aimed towards the U.S. and this creates havoc and fear. The military industrial complex leaps into taking immediate action. They had initially deployed two GBIs (Ground-Based Interceptors). Then, STRATCOM and Secretary of Defense Reid Baker organize a meeting to discuss the way of addressing the threatening situation.
The President is unable to make contact with his wife in the end of the film, when he makes a phone call. He then reads a verification code that was sent to his phone. The rocket is launched in Chicago resulting in huge terror.
Citizens flock the Raven Rock bunker in Pennsylvania. This is followed by the credits that roll after Gonzalez is shown lying on the ground in Alaska. Kathryn Bigelow touched upon the ambiguous exit of the movie, stating that she needed to leave the viewer with something to ponder upon after they exited the movie theater.
‘I want audiences to leave theatres thinking, ‘OK, what do we do now? This is a global issue, and of course I hope against hope that maybe we reduce the nuclear stockpile someday. But in the meantime, we really are living in a house of dynamite. I felt it was so important to get that information out there, so we could start a conversation. That’s the explosion we’re interested in- the conversion people have about the film afterward,” the director added. (via Netflix Tudu).
